The Story
A Father’s Dream
Mini Titans mission is to develop that spirit of freedom in
achieving ones dream’s. While, giving kids the tools and to build
their own confidence as they tackle the struggles of the free market.
Life has a way of leading us down unexpected paths. I was once the
proud owner of a tourism business, only to see it collapse during the
2020 pandemic. The loss shook my confidence, setting me back years,
and leaving me searching for a new direction. While contemplating a
move into real estate development, it was a simple yet profound
question from my two young children that changed everything.
“Dad, how do you make money?”
At just four and five years old, my kids were already curious about
the mechanics of earning a living. I didn’t want to simply tell them
to “get a job.” Instead, I wanted to show them the power of choice,
and the ability to work for someone or build something of their own.
That conversation sparked an idea, and soon, Mini Titans was born.
How Mini Titans Came to Life
I needed a way to explain the free market in terms that a four- and
five-year-old could grasp. So, rather than giving them a theoretical
lesson, I created a hands-on experience. I helped my kids negotiate
with a local store manager to set up a stand inside his shop. A feat
that no store manager could resist when faced with two determined
little entrepreneurs.
We decided on hand-pressed lemonade and orange juice. Everything
had to be done by hand to instill a strong work ethic. Their job was
simple; engage with every customer who walked through the door. After
five hours of hard work they had made nearly $300. I then guided them
through the fundamental principles of money management: spend a
portion for immediate satisfaction, save for the future, and give back
to those in need. That single day was more than just a lemonade stand;
it was the foundation of a lifelong lesson in business and responsibility.
What is Mini Titans?
Mini Titans is more than a program, it’s a movement designed to
instill the entrepreneurial spirit in children, giving them the tools
and confidence to navigate the challenges of the free market. Our
Vision is to develop young minds into resilient, resourceful
individuals who see obstacles as opportunities and failure as a
stepping stone to success.
We teach kids how to create a product, build a business around it,
and sell their creations. Unlike traditional school projects, they
keep all the money they earn, gaining firsthand experience in managing
costs and profits. Businesses sponsor teams, covering the costs of
materials, demonstrating that companies are willing to invest in their
success. This not only reduces financial barriers for the kids but
also reinforces the concept that businesses and communities thrive
when they support each other.
Why Mini Titans Matters
Our society is facing a growing challenge. Schools, originally
designed in the 1800s to create efficient employees, are still
operating under the same principles. This has left many young adults
feeling exploited by large corporations, struggling to make ends meet
while others amass fortunes. Meanwhile, technology has made life more
convenient but has also increased isolation, instant gratification,
and entitlement among today’s youth.
Mini Titans offers a different path one that prioritizes long-term
success over short-term satisfaction. We teach kids the value of hard
work, perseverance, and adaptability. Our program emphasizes honesty,
discipline, resilience, leadership, and a problem-solving mindset.
Most importantly, we normalize failure, showing kids that setbacks
don’t define them. Instead, it’s their ability to get back up,
re-assess, and try again that leads to true success.
